Candidate for Vice President on the New York Union Proud Slate

Ed began his career 34 years ago working for OMRDD/OPWDD in direct care, direct care supervision and residential program operations. Since 1992 Ed has been an Intermediate Care Facility Program Manager, working at a variety of residential sites in St. Lawrence County for the Sunmount DDSO. Ed has been a Steward of PEF Division 242 since 1995, from 1996-1999 Ed held the position of Treasurer and the Council Leader position 1999-2014. In 2006 Ed was appointed the OPWDD statewide Health and Safety Labor Chair, a position he held until 2007, when he was elected OPWDD Labor Management Labor Chair, a position he continues to hold. Ed served on the PEF Executive Board from 2010 until 2015 representing Sunmount (OPWDD) and St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center (OMH).

Ed was elected Region 7 Regional Coordinator in January of 2015. Ed serves on the Jefferson, Lewis and St Lawrence Central Labor Council and the Northeast Central Labor Council since 2015. Ed serves on the Adirondack Clinic Advisory Board of the Central NY Occupational Health Clinic Network, since the establishment of the clinic in Canton in 2009, and was the Advisory Board Chair from 2009 to 2011. Ed has been recognized by PEF in 2002 with Fight Back Privatization Award and 2009 with the Judith Scanlon Health and Safety Activist Award. Ed was recognized in 2013 with a PEF Outstanding Service Award. Ed resides in Canton NY with his wife Lynn (a proud staff member of UUP) and sons Philip and Christopher.

Ed will be a positive force as a PEF Vice President because of his extensive experience and years of service being a strong activist for the members he has served.
